Terra is orphan Orangutan whose mother was killed before her own eyes when she was just four months old. She was brought to the Sintang Orangutan Center in the beginning of 2013 where she has been cared for and has grown stronger. When you adopt Terra you will be ensuring she receives the many years of care and training she needs before returning to the wild.
Terra is an orphan Orangutan whose mother was killed before her own eyes when she was four months old.
Terra was brought to the Sintang Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in the beginning of 2013 where she has been cared for and has grown stronger. She appears to be a girl with a strong character, always cheerful and with a strong will. For that reason she is now beginning to enjoy the Tembak Forest School, the training forest in the village of Tembak that prepares young Orangutan orphans to a life in the wild.
Baby Orangutans are dependent on their mothers until they are about eight years old so orphans need to be taken into care if they are to survive. When you adopt Terra you will be ensuring she receives the many years of care and training she needs before being released into the wild.
What your Adoption will help us to do:
Our priority is to have Terra and the other Orangutans in the Sintang Orangutan Rehabilitation Center out at the nearby Tembak Forest School to begin the next phase of their rehabilitation. Working with the people of Tembak we have created ‘sleeping cage’ for Terra and her friends, construction of a clinic is done but needs ongoing funding and support.
Some of Terra's friends learning vital skills at the Tembak Forest School.
Your donation will ensure Terra and all her 15 companions at the Sintang Orangutan Rehabilitation Center while they spend their days in the jungle in the Tembak Forest School learning the vital skills they will need for life in the wild, under 24 hour supervision by qualified and experienced carers, and then come back to the cage of a night where they have all the food and veterinary care they need.

Griffin's Monkey Business Foundation is Terra's Champion.
Griffin’s Monkey Business Foundation is the result of a 12 year old dream to make a difference because it is the right thing to do! From the innocence of our youth comes the simple thought that humans destroy too much and we need to give back and save habitat for our closest relative the Orangutan.
Sadly Griffin Vollemaere was killed on the 2nd of April 2014 in a tragic accident. With an evolved sense of social justice Griffin was asked if he wanted to support a less fortunate child or cause to help humans, his response was, “ a lot of people help people but no one helps animals, we are killing their habitat and we need to stop it!”
Griffin was unable to see this happen so through the generosity of the community, his friends and family Griffin’s Monkey business Foundation was established to honour his memory and show that one young man can make a difference.
PLEASE HELP GRIFFIN MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR OUR CLOSEST COUSIN THE ORANGUTANS.
